- Happy Newyear to everybody!

-
- Sometimes when my computer crashes, my harddisk get invalidated :-(
- Usualy the harddisk get validated again when I reboot after the crash.
- But sometimes when the computer tries to validate the HD I get a requester which
- tells me that a block is used twice... then the validation stops :-(
-
- I then repair/validate the HD by my self with Disksalv...
- After doing this a lot of files are deleted and all links are also deleted from
- the volume I tried to repair/validate.
- With 'undelete' I can get all (all?) files back again and I have to relink all
- links.
-
- My question is:
- - What does it mean when there's a block which is used twice?
- - How can I avoid this error?
- - Why does disksalv (and other repair utils) deletes my files and links?
- - Is there perhaps a better way to validate my HD?
-
- My system:
- - A1200
- - IDE HD; WDC 1080 Mb
- - I use xfh/xpk-libs compression
- - MultiUserFS (patched IntlFFS)
- - I have a lot of softlinks
-
- Thanks!
